Prom

On Thursday, I had my Year Eleven Prom. I was really excited, because I don't have much of a life and I get extremely excited for this type of event (sorry I'm a bit of a loser). I had my nails done on Thursday (a red, glittery Gelerations polish by Jessica. I had it done at my cousin/godmother's salon) and I had my hair done Thursday afternoon after my sixth form induction day, where I was delighted to find I have a lovely new form, including Lauren and Abi, two of my best friends. So basically I was in a happy, excited, bubbly mood and I went to Lauren's house to get ready. My mum came along and seemed to get on swimmingly with Kelly (Lauren's mummy) and everything was generally fab. I did Lauren's hair for her, and it was so fun to get ready together and put our dresses on and what not. Then all of our other closest friends arrived, and we had some preprom drinks, and took lots of photos. Then my dad and two taxis drove us all to the prom, where we had a really lovely evening, and I got a bit emotional seeing everyone looking so beautiful! We danced and we took photos and aw the PSFA even ordered us a photobooth thing that had props in it, and it was completely free for the photos and it was so cute! Basically, the whole night lived up to my expectations and I'm glad I was so excited now, because I had such a good night. I'm looking forward to sixth form a lot more now as well, as I'm so pleased with the people in my new form! Tomorrow Lauren and I are going to Paris with her mummy and grandma, and we are very excited. Here are some photos of my prom:
My mum and Kelly asked for a photo of the backs of our dresses, which at the time seemed a bit weird, but I actually really like the photo.

I love this photo of Mollie, Molly, Holly, me, Lauren and Laura. I think my mum took it, on Laura's amazing camera, and I just wish Morwenna was in it, but she hadn't arrived yet!

My mum took this photo of me to send to my family and what not, and thought I would pop it in so you could see my dress properly!

This my dad, me and my mum. Quite a cute, jokey photo of us. I like this photo, it makes me smile.

The photo booth was so much fun, Morwenna, Lauren, me and Mel all took full advantage of the props! I think it was a really cool idea, and I would recommend renting the booths (smileybooths) for events, as they were really fun and gives you something you can take away and keep as a memory.

Have a lovely week, and I will blog about Paris when I come home!

A teaser of a haul

From the title of this blog post, you may be thinking I am going to be doing a haul post. Well, here is the catch. The clothes all look a lot better on, than just sprawled on my bed! So I am going to wait to show you most of them, because I will be wearing them in my Paris pictures.
Yesterday, I went to Bournemouth town centre and went on a big shopping trip for holiday clothes, as my general clothes situation was pretty poor. I spent a lot of my parents money, and I am very grateful for all the lovely new clothes I am now in possession of. I got a pair of patterned shorts and a lace top, a skater dress and a cotton dress from H and M, two dresses from Topshop, one of which I love so much, it is very cute. I also bought a cropped jumper from Topshop to wear over the mustard-y coloured maxi dress I bought from there (if you look on my instagram @_megancrocker you can see a photo of that outfit). I got a mid-length dress from Primark which I was a bit unsure on, as I'm not very confident when it comes to pulling off clothes, and the length is a bit awkward, but I tried it on and I actually really like it! I also bought some other bits and pieces, including my prom make up selection, which I will review in greater detail soon. I also had to get some new shoes to take to Paris, and I wasn't looking forward to this as I find shoe shopping very difficult. My feet are very wide, and are super sensitive, as I have poorly feet from where I used to dance on a non-sprung floor. I used to go to a chiropodist, but I haven't been in a while. So I have to be careful when buying shoes, and they have to be super, super comfy or my feet will be torn to shreds. My mum suggested Clarkes, which I was sceptical about, because it isn't exactly a 'cool' shop. But I found a nice pair of loafers for £39.99 and they are so comfy and I actually really like them! I also bought a new suitcase, as I'm travelling to Paris just with hand luggage, so I will probably make a post about what I pack, if that's okay? I seem to have typed on for a while...so here are some photos!

This is the fabric from the really cute Topshop dress

The last photo is of some charms on my Pandora bracelet, and my mum and dad surprised me when we got home with the charm of the Eiffel Tower which was so lovely of them! I have a union jack, and the Statue of Liberty (I went to New York and Washington with my school last year), so they felt I should have one to symbolise going to Paris! They are so sweet sometimes!

Unfortunately, yesterday I dropped my iPod in the bathroom (trying to snapchat my prom practice make up!) and I cracked the screen quite badly. I'm hoping to get it repaired, but it depends on the cost and how long it will take, to how soon I get it done.

But other than yet, yesterday was a fantastic day! Sorry this post didn't really have a purpose, but I hope you enjoyed it none the less, and are having a good weekend.

Beside the seaside

Today I spent the whole day around Bournemouth seafront, with my cousin's children, Charlie and Ruby, and their Nana, my Auntie Janet. Ruby is two, and Charlie (who is also my godson) is four. We spent the morning the in the aquarium, and just paddling and what not on the beach, and then my mum and Auntie Jenny joined us for the afternoon and we walked to Alum Chime before catching the noddy train back to Bournemouth seafront. We had a lovely day, and Charlie and Ruby are just the cutest little treasures, although a handful! We ended the day with an ice cream and a trip on the carousel. I do love the seaside! I took a few photographs, but honestly I was just busy spending time with the kids, as they live in Blandford so I don't see them as much as I would like to.

Charlie looking happy on the noddy train.

Mr Whippy-I refuse to call them a '99'. They are not 99p.

My Auntie Jenny gave me some euros to spend when I go to Paris in nine days, and there was lots of talk about my prom next Thursday. Everything is coming up all at once now, and I'm so looking forward to seeing everyone dressed up in their finery, before heading to Paris a week on Monday with one of my best friends Lauren, (or Henny as I call her) and mum and grandma. Hopefully the next few weeks will give me lots of interesting things to blog about. I've found myself wondering what I can make blog posts about, and it has actually made me pay closer attention to what I'm doing! I often think 'oh my day today has been too boring to blog about' but I found a sweet quote yesterday that says 'if you're bored, you're being boring' so I've written that on the whiteboard I use to organise myself, to remind me not to be boring! I hope you've enjoyed the sunshine today, and have a fun weekend, follow my blog if you enjoy it.

A trip to Swanage

Yesterday, a group of my closest friends and I went for a day out in Swanage, which is fairly close to where we live, we just had to catch a bus which took us over on the ferry. The night before we stayed over at Molly's house, and walked to the train station from there. After a bit of a dispute about walking through the train station with a woman who made us turn around and walk all around the station (I won't tell the full story because I could go off on a rant for hours) we got on the bus and off we went. The day actually went very smoothly, and we had a lovely day. When we first arrived, our first mission was to buy some food. We ate chips, and then went for a mooch around the shops. We got a bit over excited in one shop, called 'Curiosity' because it sold such nice, cute things and was very cheap! We spent almost a whole hour in there. We then looked around a few more shops, and then made our way down to the seafront for some ice cream. I had a strawberries and cream flavour ice cream in a cone with sprinkles, and a fudge stick. But I don't really like cones so I gave that part to my Laura! We then took some photos, which is something we all really like to do, Laura and I often volunteer our cameras to our friends, and I like that because when I get home I have lots of photos that I didn't take, or wasn't aware were being taken and it's like I get to relive it all over again! We then went into the arcade and won a total of 28 lollipops on the 2p slot machines! We then took the bus back home. The photos below are just a selection of my favourites really, and the last one is in the sepia like tone because the lighting wasn't very good, and it is the only group one I have! I'm not normally a fan of effects!

Yummy ice cream on the beach.

I really like this photo of Laura and her fancy camera!

I also took a few videos that I'm going to try and piece together using iMovie (probably won't turn out too well!) as I'm hoping to start a YouTube channel and start vlogging. But no promises!
If you have finished exams like I have, well done! If you are still going, good luck and it will all soon be over. I also went to London to see Bruce Springsteen as part of my dad's fathers day present, but they don't allow cameras like mine at Wembley so I don't have a pictures to share! I hope you have all had a lovely few days.

A little day out

Quaint little log cabin
Hello! For the past few days, life has been pretty tedious, studying for my final two exams tomorrow (yay summer!) but today, my mum, her best friend Sarah, Sarah's son Ethan and I went to...a garden centre. Now, this doesn't sound like the most thrilling of days out, but I assure you I had a fab time! The centre itself was huge, with a cafĂ© and animals (okay fish) and lots of plants as well as cutesy little homely things. We went so that mum could show Sarah the hot tub we are planning on getting once the extension work on our house is finished, and our garden has been redone. All very exciting changes that are occurring! And I had a mooch around at the log cabins whilst they were looking in the camping section, and okay I've decided I no longer want a house when I am older, I am quite happy to just live in a log cabin. Look, it is so cute!

Little lobster guy
They were all furnished with sweet things and I was quite frankly angry when my mother said we couldn't purchase one, because at £5,500 they 'just weren't worth it.' Point taken. So, we continued to mooch and had some lunch before then adventuring out into the plant section. So I took a few photos and actually decided I quite like plants and cannot wait until our garden is in a position where I can help pick out a few things to plant. I feel this may take some time, as we have yet to even start the extension yet. But oh well! Then we went into the fish section and saw some little fish, including a Nemo fish, which Sarah and mum found very exciting. Then, we went outside to look at the huge fish which I actually really love because when I was little we used to have a pond and my dad reared these sort of fish, and they are really friendly, which sounds odd because they are fish.

Big fish...oh hello reflection
But then, Ethan was looking through this glass house and said he wasn't sure what was in there, but there was a statue of an alligator. So I went to have a look, and sure enough there was an alligator statue, and a big tank of murky water. Odd. So then I joked to mum and Sarah that there was an alligator, and they both laughed at me, and came to look. So I was laughing too, AND THEN I SAW IT MOVE. It scared the life out of me. It's neck was moving in and out as it breathed. Then the lady who ran the animal section told us there were two, and they were real. I had a bit of moment because I genuinely though they were statues. They weren't actually alligators, they had a special name but I had swiftly moved away from them, and the woman before I could find out anymore. Whilst mum and Sarah chatted to the lady, Ethan and I spent about ten minutes smelling every single Yankee Candle the shop had. I loved the Cotton Fresh, Garden Sweet Pea and Beachwood one. I hated, and actually gagged at the Vanilla Cupcake one. I don't know what vanilla cupcakes the Yankee Candle team have been smelling, but they certainly do not smell like the candle in the jar I smelt! We then left about twenty minutes later after browsing the home and ware section. It was a nice, relaxing day. Tomorrow I sit my last two GCSE's, but unfortunately most of my other friends don't finish until either Monday or Thursday (poor them) so I can't be too happy, because there is no one to celebrate with! I hope your last few days have been fun, or at least productive!

Have a good Friday!

Hello, welcome and a ramble

Starting a blog seems a bit daunting right this second. I'm not a very interesting person, and I am currently hoping that in the next thirty seconds my life suddenly gets exciting, because I don't know how I'm going to 'captivate an audience' with the life I currently lead. But hello, and welcome to my little slice of the internet! I've recently been reading blogs and watching YouTube videos, and have been inspired by the online community, and how people have the ability and confidence to talk away to either a computer screen or camera, and decided it was something I might like to try. So whether I end up closing this blog after a few weeks, or it is something I enjoy and carry on with into the future, I can say I tried it.
Hopefully this blog will be a place I can share what I get up to, and my photos. I take photos almost every day, and I like the thought of making a capture a memory with the click of a button. I take snaps of flowers, flags, friends and family to mention a few. Following me on Instagram @_megancrocker will give you an insight to my typical day to day photography, though be warned it isn't very good!
So my blog will (fingers crossed!) get a lot more interesting, colourful and have more personality than this typically 'welcome to my blog' post!
