Basty Boo (Introducing my friends)

Morwenna and I have been friends since Year Seven, and quite simply, I love her to pieces. She is so cute, and we just get on really well. We were in the same drama class from Year Ten onwards, and we worked together for about 5 months, just the two of us, on our Blood Brothers performance, where I played Mrs Johnstone, and Morwenna played Mrs Lyons. I can honestly say I have never been more comfortable acting with anyone else, and we had such a laugh during rehearsals, but we worked insanely hard on the piece too. We grew closer through that period, and I love that she's just as odd as I am when it comes to things like Glee and Rocky Horror-which I am super excited about seeing with her in October!!

Morwenna has adopted many nicknames over the years, and I tend to call her Basty, or Boo. She is saved on my phone as Basty Boo. We have weird conversations about how sad we are that Cory Monteith died, and how excited we are for Heather Morris to have her baby. I did on one occasion text her the lyrics to Time Warp. I'm not kidding we are massive fans of The Rocky Horror Show. We both went to Normandy together in Year Eight, and I remember I had a mp3 player (I think that's what it was) and we literally just kept skipping through all the songs to listen to Alfie by Lily Allen, and a weird song that we both loved that I think is called  9 til 5, but not the Dolly Parton song, its about someone's husband who works from nine til five, and then he takes a train and yeah. Its a good long. But we literally listened to it about a million times. Because we are both quite strange like that!

Morwenna is the nicest person, and my mum loves her to pieces. My family hired a beach hut one year, and Morwenna came with us for a few days, and we had such a fun time. My brother's friend buried my brothers spade in the sand, then forgot where he buried it, so Morwenna and I walked for about 45 minutes to buy him a new spade, walked back, then we ran to the sea, and we both tripped over something as we were running. We turn back to see what we tripped over, and we see the spade sticking out of the ground. I would say I have never been more annoyed or angry, but actually I have. Last Thursday, Morwenna and I went to the new(ish) Starbucks in town. We order our drinks. The lady takes our names. We get all excited about getting our names on our cups. BUT NO. They don't bother to write our names on our cups. I was so angry. They advertise on every picture in the shop, names written on cups. They even went to the hassle of asking Morwenna how to spell her name. They then didn't even write it on the cup. I went on about it for hours.

We unfortunately aren't in a class together next year, but we do have RS together, which I'm looking forward to, with our friend Holly. I'm glad I will still get to see Morwenna lots, because I would miss her like crazy if I didn't. The little cutie just snapchatted me saying she will miss me when I'm away. She's so lovely. I think its because we share the same interests, and have similar attitudes towards some things, but we just get on so well, and we will both quite happily have a day in eating our weight in food, watching Glee and Desperate Houswives, switching the disks millions of times just so we can watch the bloopers. Not that we've ever done that. Okay maybe once but it was the day after Morwenna got back from her holiday and she was tired. It was such a good way to spend the day.

On the beach, I have this photo on my memory board.

Boo is dressed as Alice in Wonderland and I am dressed as Daphne for Leavers day.

Laura took this photo, and it is my favourite photo of us ever, at Hengistbury Head

At Lauren's house before prom. Morwenna looked like a goddess.

At our friend Hollie's birthday gathering.

I hope you are enjoying these blog posts. It'll be my last one for a while as I am going away tomorro to camp bestival, then two days after I get back, I am going to Greece!

Laura (Introducing my friends)

Laura and I have been friends since the start (pretty much) of year seven. We became friends because Molly and I used to talk about ghost stories with Laura and Mollie at lunch times. We were very cool. Quite frankly not a lot has changed. Laura has been a constant friend of mine, and I would class her as one of my best friends, and we always find something to discuss, whether it be mundane things, cute things or more philosophical discussions (adoption, abortion, how to run the world etc)!

I guess we became really close in Year Ten, when we went to Belgium on a history trip. Laura was in my history class, it was the only lesson we had together from Year Ten onwards, and we weren't at all excited to be going on this trip. We thought it was going to be boring, but I can honestly say it was amazing, and a trip I will never forget. What made it so special for me was that Laura, Holly, Phoebe and I got on so well and we had such a laugh, and the actual trip was really interesting and not at all boring. Not that we weren't close before hand, but since this trip I feel like I know Laura a million times better. We laughed, sang along to Celien Dion on the coach (love you Fred) and just had an all round fab time. During the summer holidays of Year Ten, I saw Laura a lot, and we went to Days in Bournemouth and ate fried food and spoke about deep and meaningful things and it was really lovely!

Since then, we've remained so close. I love that our friendship group is so strong, and Laura is a very big part of it for me. We all go on days out and have generally cute times together, and I am insanely jealous of Laura's amazing photography, and her creativity. I've basically come to the conclusion that everyone needs a Laura in there life!

I feel like I haven't written much, and I haven't done Laura justice. She is one of my best friends because she is so funny, and I know that whenever I meet up with her, I will have a lovely time, because we just seemed to click right back in Year 7, and at least to me, nothing has changed between us since then. Laura and I were assembly reps together for like two years I think, and I remember writing assemblies, (well Laura pretty much always wrote them, I just gave unhelpful suggestions) and I always remember that one time, we forgot to write anything, and the assembly was on team work so after frantically texting one and other we decided to have like a balloon race between each class. And as weird as this sounds, with Laura the friendship has always been kind of like team work, Laura has always been there to help me out, or listen to me whining on, and has generally supported me lots and lots, and I'm so grateful to her, and I think we make a pretty good team! I hope she agrees! I hope we will continue to be best friends throughout sixth form, because I love her loads and will be sad not to be in a form with her.

I will add some photographs now, and I will also tell you all to find Laura's blog, she is a much better blogger than me, and is pretty internet famous if I'm honest. If you look at my following list, you will find her. Also, I think she is on lots of other social networking sites, and her Instagram is lovely, so follow her on there (her name is vintagekisses) and you can read all about her in her bio!

This was on a day out to Boscombe Gardens and the beach, and I have this photo up on my memory board in my bedroom.

Laura and I in a trench in Belgium, on the first day of the tip. I love this photo so much.

Laura is dressed up as Little Red Riding Hood here, and I am Daphne from Scooby Do, and this was for our leavers day celebrations.

I love this photograph. It is taken on the same day as the very first photograph, and I just love it because its not focused on our faces and it looks natural and sweet.

The only photo I have of Laura and I on the night of our prom, Laura's dress was lovely, and she looks radiant!

Finally, I stole this photograph from Laura, I hope she doesn't mind! It was on a day out at Hengistbury Head, and I like this photo a lot, because it has a nice background and I just like it!

I hope you are enjoying these blog posts, and don't forget to comment if you have any questions, suggestions or queries!

Milly Molly Mandy (Introducing my friends)

Continuing with the theme of 'introducing my friends', today I thought I would introduce to you the person I have been friends with for the longest. Molly and I have known each other since nursery, when we used to play together in the speed boat in our playground. So that was way back when we were 3/4. We were then not in the same class again until Year 2, but I do remember having the same shoes as her in Reception (navy blue buckled shoes with three flowers on the front) and thinking we were the coolest kids in town. Which obviously we were.

From Year 2 onwards, Molly and I were in the same class. I remember near the start of the year, we had to make up tongue twisters, and Molly's was about Milly Molly Mandy who went to buy millionaire shortbread or something. We were pretty much inseparable, and we quickly discovered we lived on the same road, and walked to and from school together every day, with our mums and younger brothers. Our families did, and still do get on really well. I used to go to Molly's house every night pretty much for dinner, apart from on a Wednesday when Molly would come to my house before we went to Brownies. I remember us both having other friends in primary school, but we never really fell out.

We both wound up getting into grammar school, and I was so relieved to find out we would be in the same class. Ever since, we've remained such good friends, and Mols is honestly one of my very best friends, because we've been through pretty much our whole lives together-or the bits that I remember anyway. We used to do weird things in primary school like dress up and make up dance routines in the back of my garden, or bring Molly's rabbit inside the house (which I thought was the coolest thing because my rabbit wasn't allowed inside), and the very first time I went to Molly's house, she told me her dad could burn a tissue, and he would probably burn the salad with our pizza. Which we found hilarious. I remember spilling ice cream down my pinafore and John saying "your mum's going to kick my ass" and Mols and I were laughing so much. I also remember her leap frogging over me in her hallway to get to the lounge because the Weakest Link was on. Haha, I also remember her dad watching videos on the computer one dinner time of a remix of the 'calm down dear' advert (going off on a slight tangent) and finding it really scary. But in secondary school, we remained good friends, and I know that I can always meet up with Molly and have a right old laugh!

Okay so as I'm writing this I'm remembering so many things that we have found funny, like when we used to record funny voices at sleepovers, and things that we found hilarious, but normal people who don't know us will find mental. But that's why Molly and I have remained friends, because I guess we just get each other, have the same sense of humour, and at the end of the day we have been best friends for roughly eleven years, so we know exactly what the other person means.

More recently, Mols and I went to Thorpe Park with my dad and brother (this was in the May last year) and we hid my dad's bacon sandwich in the Costa Coffee at the service station and he thought the woman had taken it away and he went mental, and Molly and I have honestly never found anything as funny. I've never been more sure that I will carry on being friends with someone, because Molly has always been a big part of my life, and I can't imagine not having her around. We have in depth conversations about Eastenders, Made In Chelsea (mainly consisting of mocking Spenny), and I quiz her on Glee (which she hates), and she teaches me the lyrics to Eminem songs on the 45 minute journey to school. But in a nutshell, Molly is my best friend, and I've known her for the longest out of any of my friends and I'm just thankful she hasn't got fed up of me yet, and she knows that if she wants to be a bridesmaid at my wedding, she has to wait to get her sleeves until after I'm married!!

I will end this post with a few photographs, I hope you are enjoying this idea so far, and I hope my friends approve of what I'm writing!

This was an evening at my house where Molly and I took about 1749028 photos on my mac. I want to say it was in like year nine, but realistically I think it was year ten. It was September 2011, I just checked. Nice editing I know.

This was us a month or so ago at our friend Lauren's house for pre prom. Molly looked b-e-a-utiful.

This was on a day out with our friends. We were posing, and Molly said 'Megan look more gangsta' and this photo was the stunning result.

On the same day out, a photo that made my mum 'tear up' when she saw it, because we don't have too many nice, normal photos of us. Aw.

Finally, my favourite picture of us, taken by one of my other best friends Laura, who is an incredible photographer. I just really like this photo, and I like that I am wearing the sunglasses that Molly's mum lent me when I went to their house before we left for the Laura's, because it basically sums up the fact that Molly's mum is like my second mum, and my mum is like Molly's second mum. Bit of cuteness for you there. Thank you for the lovely photo Laura, and thank you for being there for me for eleven years Mol.xxxxxxxxxxx

I hope you enjoyed this blog post,

Introducing my friends

Okay, seeing as I currently cannot transport my camera anywhere very safely, I am trying to go through old photos and piece together a blog post, when I thought maybe this would be a good idea to introduce a few of my friends, as and when I see them. Does that make sense? So, yesterday I met up with two of my best friends, Morwenna and Abi. Now, Morwenna has been in a few of my posts already, and yesterday she divulged that she stalks my blog, so when we have our next Thursday date Basty, I will ask your permission to post about you haha! Abi cannot find my blog, and I've told her I am making a post, but I find it weird that my friends read my posts haha!

Anyway, Abi/Abs/Ab Rum/Absicle (her nicknames) and I have been friends since the very start of year ten, so two years ago, when we were put in a teaching group together. Basically I was super nervous about going into teaching groups and I was worried because I didn't have anyone there that I was actually good friends with. But despite Abi coming with quite a strong group of friends, she very kindly let me latch onto her and we basically became best friends after I made her laugh in our first physics lesson (though she is weird because she 'likes' physics ew no) with a joke about the gas taps 'get on get out' to you guys probably don't get what's funny about this, but to be honest I don't really remember what was actually funny about it, but I do remember being like 'we are going to be friends'. We had all of our lessons together, apart from maths, food tech (Abi took German instead. We had these classes at the same time, and hated them) and drama (Abi did Geography instead). So I was basically guaranteed to at least spend two hours of my day with Abi. Luckily, we quickly found out that we had loads in common, and specifically our conversations about Glee formed the firm foundations for our friendship (sorry for all the alliteration there). In year ten, we quickly realised that Abi was about 400 times cleverer than me, but surprisingly, this didn't irritate me at all. I remember getting my science results (classic B, C and D) and being so happy that Abi got three A*'s because I know how hard she works, and how much she deserves them. As we moved into year eleven, and the intensity of our work increased, our friendship didn't waver. Abi was still ridiculously smart, and she put up with all of my moaning, and stressing out, and even used to keep all my chemistry and English notes for me. We didn't get to sit with each other in every subject, but in English, we sat next to each other and our teacher (who we adore) got on with us so well because we were both really enthusiastic and we had so much fun. Music was also our favourite class, because some lessons were bloody stressful with compositions, solos and ensembles to hand in, but Mr B helped us all, and I just loved my music class so much so it was never as bad as it could have been. Sorry for all the rambling.

Anyway, exams came and I suddenly began to realise that there was a really strong possibility that I wasn't going to be having classes with any of my friends, and quite seriously it could be like the start of year ten all over again, only this time I may not make any new friends. So, sixth form induction arrived (on the morning of prom) and I was so so so insanely relived that I had Abi in my class, along with Lauren (my Paris companion and bestie) and lots of other people who I am not scared of and am friends with, and I'm not scared for the start of sixth form now. Okay maybe I'm a little scared because I don't know whether I will have any classes with my friends (I hope I have Abs for biology and English) but at least I have a good form and, pma (positive mental attitude) that things will be A-Okay!

Hopefully Abi and I will continue to be friends for the next two years (I'm pretty sure we will, because it would be odd not talking to her. Trust me, I tried to hold a grudge against her for a whole day and it was so hard) and I hope she will be patient enough to put up with the fact that sometimes I am incapable of forming sentences, that I get overly-emotional, that I burst into song, and I have weird little phrases (just realising that Abi has inherited a lot of these traits) and we will continue to just have a fab time being besties. I will add some photos now!

This was taken in the photo booth at prom and Abi literally looks stunning.

I don't look that great in this pic, but it was taken on my 16th birthday and it is similar to one I have framed on my shelves in my room.

Again this was taken at prom, and is in black and white because I had a spot on my face that was super prominent and I couldn't edit it properly on my laptop :(

This photo was taken at our friend's party and I just really like it because we didn't know it was being taken and we were waiting for a karaoke song that we actually knew.

Okay, so this post might not be to everyone's cup of tea, but whilst I am struggling on without my camera being taken anywhere, it is just keeping my blogging. Hopefully I can introduce more of my friends, you've already heard about/seen photos of some of them, but I found this post really fun to put together!

Don't forget to comment and follow :)

General Life

Hello! Well this past week or so has been busy busy busy. So I apologise for not posting. I have noticed that the number of people reading has dwindled slightly, so I hope that I'm not boring you!
I spent this past weekend at Tonefest in Poole, very close to where I live. I had a fab time, despite getting caught in a thunderstorm last night (I hate lightening) the weekend opened me up to a whole host of musical talent that I would other wise had not discovered. My dad prints the t-shirts for Tonefest, which is how we heard about it, and we will definitely be going back. I did not take my camera as I've lost the case and didn't want to risk losing/breaking my camera. Some of the acts I enjoyed where The Guns of Navarone (I've seen them before, my parents know people in the band), Legend (a Bob Marley tribute), Adam Pulfer (his music is super relaxing, and he's funny too), Gideon Conn (hilarious lyrics, quite odd, but really interesting if that makes sense...YouTube him!), Cash Converted (my dad and I are huge Johnny Cash fans, and Molly's parents are in the band so I've seen them lots and lots), Pronghorn (Molly's dad is in the band, I've seen them lots), Ellie Lawson (acoustic songs, written herself, performed with her partner, just a lovely sound) and SGT Pepper's Only Dartboard Band (a super good Beatles tribute). The festival is really small, good for families or groups in general (my family and I went with another family) and it has a fab atmosphere and everyone is really nice, and its easy to like talk to people and what not. They also had open mic slots, Sunday's was especially good, but I'm not brave enough to get up haha!

I promise to post more this week...I may even try every day, with photos! This is a relatively short post but I'm so tired and I just don't have much to say apart from I suggest you get yourself there next year, tickets go on sale in September!

Remember to follow this blog if you enjoy it, and comment below if you have any suggestions, criticism, queries or anything at all really!

Paris Trip

This post is very long, I won't blame you for skipping to the photos at the end of this post :) xxxx

Last Monday, I went with of my best friends, Lauren, her mum and grandma to Paris for five days. we had the best time. I've never been to Paris before (unless you count Disney) and I'm a total sucker for seeing the sights and going to really iconic places (this is someone who cried when they saw the statue of liberty) so I was super excited to get to see all the amazing sights that Paris has to offer.
We flew to Paris from Heathrow in London, and the flight when smoothly, despite Lauren coming over a little odd on the flight. Once we arrived in Paris, we had to catch the Metro to Rue Rambeteau where our apartment was situated. It was crowded, hot, and generally unpleasant but we arrived there none the less. We then had a short walk to our apartment, and we arrived and it was just the cutest apartment, very small, but in a fabulous central location. We went out to a restaurant on the road where our apartment was situated, for cocktails (I had a tequila sunrise which quite honestly tasted like Christmas Pudding) and a meal.

On Tuesday, Lauren and I walked to a nearby patisserie to get breakfast, then we walked around, until we reached the Notre Dame, which was a stunning, gothic looking church. We didn't go inside as the queue was huge, but just from outside it looked magnificent.  We then headed for the Louvre, but it is closed on Tuesday's, so we just mooched around, having a look in the unusual pet shops where they actually have puppies behind glass. Odd. Some of the places weren't very nice, with weird smells, and all the puppies looking a bit docile, but one shop was lovely; clean, with a very friendly owner who let Lauren and I stroke and hold the puppies! We also visited the padlock bridge, where there are honestly millions of padlocks stuck on the bridge. We bought one, and attached it, it was quite exciting really! For dinner, we got things to prepare a salad, and went back to the apartment, where I tidied and cleaned up, whilst Lauren made dinner-teamwork!

Wednesday involved lots of walking. We went to the Louvre, and queued for a while, before entering the most beautiful building I have ever been in. The sculpture room was so beautiful, with high ceilings, large glass panes, and impressive marble statues. I am not really an arty person, but even I appreciated the sculptures! Lauren and I then got very excited as we neared to where the Mona Lisa was situated. But if I'm honest, it was a bit of a disappointment! It is very small, and although a very historical painting, and it is good to say I have seen it, the experience was far from pleasurable, as it is in a huge room with lots of other paintings, and people pushing and shoving to get closer to the painting, making it near on impossible to get a good photo! We then left the Louvre after seeing a few more rooms, because it was so hot! We then walked through some gardens, back out onto the main roads, and proceeded to make our way to the Eiffel Tower. It is really an impressive structure, and Lauren and I decided we would climb the steps to the top, which seemed like a good idea. Well, I really did not enjoy climbing it. Mainly because I am a scaredy-cat! I happily made my way up the first few flights, but I did not like the fact I could see through the tower to the ground, and my legs got really shaky and I was seriously contemplating walking back down. But we got to the first level and the sight was breath-taking. It was amazing to be able to literally see the whole of Paris, so I was totally up for climbing up the next flight, just to see more of the incredible view. But again I got quite nervous, and once at the top, I could hardly take a photo because I didn't want to have to let go of the hand rails! We then went back down, which took me ages because I was gripping to the hand rail for dear life, whilst Lauren literally hopped, skipped and jumped down them! We then went to an American style restaurant called Indiana's, where Lauren fell in love with the waiter, and we had a few cocktails.

Thursday, we  went to the Sacre Coeur, a simply incredible church/cathedral (?) where I lit a candle for my nanny and granddad, and we just wondered round admiring the beauty. Unfortunately you cannot take any photos inside, but if you ever go to Paris, it is so worth going there, although the inside is a bit over commercialised. We then walked through Montmartre, where artists asked to paint you, and there are lots of shops and cafes. We continued walking to the Moulin Rouge area, where we took some photos, and then sat in a cafĂ© and people watched for a while, which was fun! As it was our last night, we went for dinner and ordered a few cocktails (I had a peach champagne cocktail which was delicious, then I traded with Kelly for the second one, and had a cocktail with rose syrup, gin, vodka and champagne which was quite strong!) we then walked back home, stopping twice, once for an espresso and once for a majito. We then went back to the apartment and finished up any food or drink we had, listening to the les mis soundtrack (sophisticated evening...) before going to sleep.

On Friday, we went to the Pompidou Centre, a big modern art gallery. The exterior is really creative, and I was super excited because we were going to see the Roy Lichtenstein exhibition. I was so happy because unlike some of my best friends, I'm not very artistic and I was very happy because I knew who he was, and what's more I love love love his work. I was even more excited because apparently it will be the only exhibition where all the pieces will be in one place, because they are all privately owned. We then took a more pleasurable trip on the metro then when we arrived, and checked in at the airport...where we spent four hours just hanging around doing crosswords, eating macaroons and chatting. We had a really quick flight back, and Kelly drove us home.

I had such a wonderful time, and I'm sorry if this post is too detailed, boring, impersonal, or maybe not detailed enough, or too personal. As you may have realised I am still a bit nervous about this blog! I also apologise for how long this post has taken me to make, I've been working for my dad this week, and have been generally really busy! Anyway, some photos!
